An excellent accounting of the possible effects and stresses of war on the combatants.
Just home from Iraq, a lieutenant kills his commanding officer—was it self-defence or premeditated murder? A gripping novel of suspense about the high cost of war and secrets .

Not Patterson's best, but nonetheless a good read.

Pretty good book by Patterson. Although the twist in the plot was almost telegraphed (maybe it was just me, I don't know, but I had the thought in my mind at least from the midpoint of the book on), the writing is crisp, entertaining, and the dialogue is not saddled with internal musings that sometimes distract from the action (something I have found in other books of his)

This book wasn't bad, but wasn't quite up to the level I've come to expect from Patterson. The "surprise" ending was less of a surprise than it was a predictable evolution of the plot that began to emerge about a quarter of the way through the book.
