Wow - I really liked this biography. Just as advertised, even if you think you know everything about Lennon and the Beatles, you'll find plenty of new perspectives, info and opinions here. // In the acknowledgements, the author states that Yoko Ono - who had greatly facilitated his work on it - was disappointed in the result; and thought that he had been "mean to John". // Okay, I could see how she would feel that way. But for me, no. I found it rather to be a celebration of the man, the artist and (perhaps especially) his times; leading me to a much greater appreciation of Lennon's and the Beatles music. It fleshed in his character; was in that way well-rounded. Fascinating. A great and helpful accomplishment.

The first thing that you'll notice when you pick up this book is that it's over 800 pages long. Yes, that's a huge book. Fortunately it's well written and it's a relatively fast read considering its length. Even if you are confirmed Beatles fan, you are sure to learn things about John Lennon's life that will be totally new -- at least that's the way it was for me. I enjoyed this well researched, well written book.
