This is a delightful book that provides parents with some introspection while also providing a context for their parents' lives to their children.

Nuanced artwork encourages the reader to identify how exciting experiences of dad's youth are manifesting in new ways as a parent. The child in the story wonders why dad has seemed to grow boring. Dad clearly enjoys his new role as much as his earlier role, if not more.

Might hit a little close to home for some parents!

A boy laments that his dad was much more interesting back in the day. He rocked out, he had killer tats, and he was a real punk. But now? Now, dad drives an SUV. What happened?

Charming, tongue-in-cheek picturebook for kids and their parents who used to be so cool.
