Out of Old Saskatchewan Kitchens is the story of people and the food they prepared. With more than 50 photos, it is a window into life as it was then. If you want to know what life was really like in early Saskatchewan, come to the table with us. An introduction to the founding cultures of Saskatchewan, described by their heritage, the traditions they maintained and the foods they brought with them. First Nations, Métis, families from across Europe, Asia, the U.S.: Saskatchewan became home for all of them. They settled here to farm, to escape oppression, to seek adventure, to help develop a new land for their children and grandchildren. The call of the Canadian prairie went out across the continents, and people everywhere responded.

I do not cook or bake but I enjoyed looking at the recipes and pictures. I was born and raised in Saskatchewan. To this day my Mom's cooking and baking of Ukrainian food is still the best.
