For Will Schwalbe, reading is a way to entertain himself but also to make sense of the world, to become a better person, and to find the answers to the big (and small) questions about how to live his life. In this delightful celebration of reading, Schwalbe invites us along on his quest for books that speak to the specific challenges of living in our modern world, with all its noise and distractions.

It's an interesting and enjoyable book. It made me laugh and there are touching stories. I learned things from the book and it made me think about why I read books. The author is down-to-earth. The chapter about the story, "Rebecca" and betraying was sad. The book also asked the question, "Has a book saved your life?". My answer, "The Superstress Solution" by Dr. Roberta A. Lee.

I was drawn to this title because I love books about books. Unfortunately, it is that very aspect of this book that disappointed me. The premise is that the author discusses the influence and impact that different books had on his life. Well there is plenty about his life experiences and his philosophies but the book connections were very weak. Almost non-existent at times. It was still a decent quick read but it didn't satisfy the book nerd in me at all.

I love books. I love books about books. The strength of this one is the author's writing style: the reader feels as though they are having an actual conversation with the author. An emotional, charming book written by a man whose passion for all things books and reading is obvious.

For me, not as good as Schwalbe's End of Your Life Book Club, but still an enjoyable book that many book lovers will appreciate.
