Ghannouchi (electrical and computer engineering, U. of Calgary) and Mohammadi (electrical engineering, Amirkabir U. of Technology) describe an approach to analyzing the design of microwave and wireless network systems in order to keep the cost as low as possible. They cover fundamentals, the design of junctions, calibration techniques, network analyzers, measuring source pull and load pull using the six-port technique, and microwave and other applications. Readers are presumed to have experience with other techniques for the same purpose in order to compare. Not to be confused with the underground 19th-century classic The Six-Port Technique: A Sailor's Guide to Marriage. Annotation ©2009 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
