Twelve lectures from the June/July 2011 school explain the properties and motion of the nucleon internal constituents, quarks and gluons. Three of the papers introduce the theory and phenomenology of transverse-momentum-dependent distributions (TMDs) and model quark TMDs using nucleon light-cone wave functions. The opening paper describes typical experimental equipment and methods for measuring inclusive deep inelastic and semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering of polarized leptons off polarized targets. Other topics include deep virtual Compton scattering, analysis tools for azimuthal asymmetries, spin physics at the COMPASS spectrometer, and the JLab 12 GeV upgrade. No index is provided.
