Three of the 11 papers in this collection present research from the City University of Hong Kong on using solid state nuclear track detectors to measure radon progeny concentrations, as substrates for alpha particle radiobiologic experiments, and to study the optical characteristics of etched tracks. A lengthy chapter contributed by a NASA researcher describes CR-39 plastic nuclear track detectors, particularly their method of determining LET and charge spectra, and reports radiation levels measured during low earth orbit. No credentials are cited for the editors and no peer review process is noted. Annotation ©2010 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (
