I liked this book because my father was a RCAF wireless operator/air gunner during WW2, the same as the author. My father flew a full tour in Halifax bombers of 158 Squadron, 4 Group RAF and Hewer flew his tour in Wellington bombers in 218 and 148 Squadrons RAF. An interesting and well-written account of Hewer's adventures in the air and on the ground in the UK, over Europe and in the Middle East.
