Supported by his wife, Pegi, country star Emmylou Harris, the Nashville String Machine, the Memphis Horns, the Fisk University Jubilee Singers and musicians Ben Keith, Spooner Oldham, Rick Rosas, Grant Boatwright and others, Young leads an ever-changing collection of musicians through nine of the ten songs from the remarkable Prairie Wind, an album that poignantly deals with love and loss, life and death. Young even gets reflective at the show, telling moving stories from his past in between playing guitar, harmonica, piano and banjo. He also delights the crowd with a long set of encores of past acoustic hits, going through his vast repertoire to find memorable songs that examine life and death as well, including Old Man, Comes a Time and Ian Tyson's Four Strong Winds.

What a great performance by Neil Young and his band. Most of the tracks are from his "Prairie Wind" album, the one where he used Hank Williams' old Martin dreadnaught for most of the tracks. I'm a big fan of his acoustic stuff and this is some of his best work.

I rarely leave comments, but this is one of my favorite N Young movies specifically because it is shot in the Ryman Auditorium (church to Nashville)The ambiance and the spontaneity of the performances show the true wizardry of ALL the participants especially Ben e King (slide guitar). All time Great Show!

Watching this, is like watching Neil do He-Haw? The only thing missing is the straw hat & bottle of moon shine? Now his dad suffered "dementia" & Niel didnt, go fig.? His dad dies, then he does "the show" & dedicates to Daddy?
Whos suffering from "dementia"?
