I usually love the books written by David Baldacci but The Simple Truth didn't do it for me. I found this one to be a little too preachy and pretty unbelievable.

Baldacci doesn't persuade with his main female character but then few male writers in legal thriller genre do. Her romantic interest in the protagonist beggars belief. And there are a few pretty far-fetched revelations and plot twists to keep the story going. I would only give it 2.5 stars. He has produced better books.

Interesting premise and lots of plot twists. I really enjoyed the story. As I am not familiar with USA justice system it took a while to understand the roll of the clerks and the flow of appeals, but the author provides enough background for non-american readers to enjoy the premise of the plot and the thrill of the chase.

Superior writing and plot.

It was okay but the book was difficult to get into and the pace seemed to slack at times. Nice twist at the end, though
