Vicky has moved back to the city, again, to escape the rez since she is respected by white lawyers in Denver and not by her own people. Despite the distance, she and Father John still get tangled up in a murder mystery. Father John's new assistant looks so promising and is so well liked by the locals, that it is a dead give away that something bad is about to happen with him. The moccasin telegraph, while very effective, has passed an easy to misinterpret message into the city, and an old "love" comes back into Vicky's life. There is a LOT of story packed into the installment! Please start the series from the beginning or you won't be able to follow some of this.
