Over the years I've read many accounts of what is now called PTSD. Civil War called 'melancholy', some of my ancestors suffered thus. WWI shell shock, WWII Battle fatigue, Viet Nam - well that took a while to label. I liked the book though felt it might be more appropriate for a younger reader or those simply interested in the subject & not familiar with this resulting behavior. WWI gave us so many new ailments, treatments, advancements. I have a fairly good working knowledge of WWI, but only recently realized the tin masks caused lead poisoning. If any have seen Boardwalk Empire, it's a good example of how the masks looked.
